On Friday 1st February, you can learn how to make your own raw chocolate at an evening workshop hosted by Sue Colt.
This is the perfect event for those who are vegan or lactose intolerant, as you’ll be using raw chocolate with maple syrup rather than sugar.
You’ll learn how to make delicious chocolates, flavoured with essential oils.
After learning about chocolate, you’ll be able to take home 200g of your chocolate creations.

On the 4th February, you can join Pippa at her noodle making workshop at Pollen Bakery.
This will be a very hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to make two different types of noodles, from scratch, and the science behind making noodles at home.
After working up an appetite, you will enjoy the fruits of your labour – cooking and eating a bowl of delicious biang biang noodles. You will take away the rest of your noodles to enjoy at home.
Everything you will need for these workshops will be provided by Pippa, including aprons and refreshments. You will learn everything you need to recreate these recipes in your own home – with confidence! Included in the price is a menu card, Pippy Eats chopsticks and your handmade noodles to take home. Feel free to BYOB to these events.
Vegan and vegetarian options will be available, advise Pippa of this upon booking. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the workshop recipes, wheat or gluten allergies and sensitivities are not able to be accommodated.
The workshop will be 3 hours long.

Pollen Bakery is hosting a hands-on Viennoiserie workshop designed to give beginners the knowledge and skills to make beautiful pastries at home.
Taking place at the bakery on Sunday February 17th from 9:30am- 5pm, you’ll learn the fundamentals involved in making pastry by hand.
The expert hosts will break down the process of fermentation, lamination, shaping, proving and baking into simple, easy to follow steps.
You’ll get to make two different pastries from start to finish on the day; an Almond Croissant and a Cruffin.
A light breakfast will be provided on arrival, where you can meet fellow bakers and get ready for a fun day of baking. You’ll also be treated to lunch while the pastries are proving, with additional refreshments provided throughout. At the end of the day, you’ll be able to take home all of the pastries you’ve made along with the recipes and notebook.

There is no better way to impress dinner guests than being able to make a gorgeous dessert, chocolate will certainly achieve that wow factor!
You’ll learn how to create Salted Caramel Chocolate Truffle Cake with a range of chocolate making techniques that you will be able to use to create your own perfect, stunning chocolate dessert.
This workshop is part of the Chocolate Masterclass program by York Cocoa House, it can be enjoyed on its own or as part of a series of classes. Previous knowledge will not be necessary so it’s a perfect introduction to the mechanics of working with chocolate, especially for any for any cake maker that wants to understand more about how chocolate works.

Each participant will take home approximately 400g of your own chocolate desserts as well as the recipes and technical worksheets to be able to make your own and perfect your skills at home.

Perfect for chocolate lovers of all ages and abilities who want to learn more of the secrets to create their own gorgeous chocolates at home. This course is also ideal for chefs and catering students to learn how to work with fine quality chocolate in a range of environments and purposes.
Please note that children are most welcome at this workshop, however we do ask that they are accompanied by a full paying adult participant.
